    History

The Crescent Group traces its origins to the creation of Crescent Petroleum, the Middle East's oldest private oil and gas company established in 1971.

History

By the mid-1980's Crescent Petroleum was making its mark on the international energy scene; acting as a technical operator in numerous countries including Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen, Canada, Montenegro, Tunisia and Argentina.

Over the years, and alongside the diversification of the emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates, the Crescent Group diversified into a variety of industries and markets across the globe, cumulating in the creation of Crescent Enterprises, the Group's conglomerate that dates back to the founding of Gulftainer in 1976, the region's largest ports and logistics operator. Crescent Enterprises was established to actively develop and expand all non-petroleum assets, investments and operating companies within the Crescent Group.

With the support of over 7,000 dedicated employees, the Crescent Group has developed into a globally-diversified family business group, seeking further opportunities to expand into new markets, while upholding best business practices and social responsibility.
