HAMID JAFAR - Chairman of the Board

He is also the Executive Chairman of Dana Gas PJSC. Aside from his core business in oil & gas, he has a variety of international and commercial interests including container shipping, terminal operations, trucking, various other industrial undertakings, private equity and real estate. Mr. Hamid Jafar is the Chairman of Gulftainer Ltd. and a Director of the URUK Group. He is the founder of the UAE Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and the World Presidents Organization, and is also a member of the International Chief Executives Organization.

Mr. Hamid Jafar has also promoted important projects in higher education at Cambridge University, and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the American University of Sharjah (AUS). He is also an active supporter of many charities, particularly those in aid of handicapped children and cancer patients. Mr. Hamid Jafar graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering (Thermodynamics and Fluid Flow) from Churchill College, Cambridge University.

MAJID JAFAR - Executive Director

Mr. Majid Jafar is the Executive Director of the Crescent Petroleum Group and Member of the Board of Directors of Dana Gas PJSC, where he serves as Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Remuneration Committee and as a Member of the Business Development Committee. He is also a Director of Gulftainer Ltd. He previously worked for Shell International in the Exploration & Production Division and also in their Gas & Power division. In addition to his professional commitments, Majid Jafar serves on the Board of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, the Sharjah Expo, and the Iraqi-British Friendship Society. He is also an active member of the Royal Institute for International Affairs in London, and of the Young Arab Leaders (UAE Chapter). Majid Jafar holds Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Engineering (Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics) from Cambridge University, as well as an MA (with Distinction) in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), and an MBA (with Distinction) from the Harvard Business School.

BADR JAFAR - Executive Director

Mr. Badr Jafar is responsible for master project development and financial deal-structuring activities for the Crescent Group, with a particular focus on upstream activities. He is CEO of Crescent Investments, the Group’s non oil and gas investment company. He is also actively involved in business development at Dana Gas PJSC, and is Chairman of Gas Cities LLC, and of Pearl Petroleum. Badr Jafar graduated from Cambridge University with a Masters Degree in Engineering and a Business Degree from the Judge Business School of Cambridge University. He is active in a variety of other industries regionally and internationally including, aviation - serving as a Director of Gama Aviation (UK), shipping - serving as a Board Member of Gulftainer Ltd (UAE), real estate - serving as a Board Member of Enshaa PSC (UAE) and private equity serving as a Board Member of GrowthGate Capital (Bahrain). Badr Jafar is the founder and CEO of Collo Ltd (UK) and Persicus Inc (USA), which specialise in the manufacturing and marketing of high-end consumer products worldwide. He is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation and sits on the Alumni Advisory Council of the Cambridge University Judge Business School.
