Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct, supervise, and control the activities of assigned personnel, in allocating work and determining priorities.
- Review and endorse contractor invoices.
- Review daily report and discuss completed operations with related drilling supervisor.
- Discuss the follow up operations plan with concerned parties, verifies and approves the requirement for equipment, material, and manpower.
- Assign and direct tasks to Well Engineer for further investigation and ensure receiving feedback.
- Review well engineer's completed works and presents to supervisor for final approval.
- Participates in the debrief meetings to transfer experience gained during work operations and after well completion.
- Seek expertise of service companies to provide well proposals in their specialist’s field.
- Arrange for the pre-spud meeting on the rig to discuss the well instructions and highlight important issues.
- Participate in the pre planning meeting with reservoir department and major contractors to introduce modifications made by drilling department and seek their views/proposals to minimize cost.
- Participate in the investigation and reporting of major accidents and high potential incidents and makes necessary recommendations for improvement.
- Carry out frequent visits to the assigned rigs for group safety meetings, self inspection and self auditing to ensure plant and equipment are properly maintained.
- Implement and maintain HSE program.
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare special procedures for non-routine operations and activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental policies across the business.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years experience in drilling operations of which at least 4 years should have been in a supervisory capacity in onshore drilling.
- Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills.
